Rachel and Anthony - Part II - Mixed Metals as a Color Scheme

Yes, it's been a year, sometimes it takes awhile to collect photos and then, boom, it's busy season again - plus these photos were held hostage at Brides.com for awhile while we waited for their feature to go live.

Anyway - besides featuring this exquisite wedding, I want to use this post as the first in a series on color schemes and color trends.  After discussing food (the MOST important part of this party for Rachel and Anthony, more on that later) - Rachel and I discovered that we both LOVED mixed metals.    Gone are the days of choosing only silver or only gold.  Mixing gold, silver, champagne and rose gold creates an elegant yet neutral palate for a wedding or any event.  I personally love mixing metals in my own jewelry too.

Lewis Miller Design selected this dazzling linens for the event and accented with gold and silver touches, candlesticks, silver and gold rimmed plates.  Bright white peonies and greens were used to keep the palate neutral and fresh feeling.

Regas Studio designed the invitations and paper goods featuring a different metallic beveled edge on each piece of the invite, gold foiled monogram and a deep green chevron envelope lining

Now back to the food - Rachel and Anthony are definitely "foodies" and wanted this event to feature a sit down dinner with some of their favorite menu items from one of their favorite restaurants, Babbo.  When we heard that Mary Guiliani Catering & Events was partnering with Mario Batali, we knew this was the perfect match.  The menu featured arugula salad with pork belly, burrata and heirloom tomatoes, tortilla puzzone with taleggio dolce & black truffle butter, and then a choice of oven poached halibut or NY strip loin with Batali steak sauce.

On to the photos from David Alexander and Roey Yohai.  Event took place at the Bleecker Street Arts Club.
